Katell Keineg releases new album
At The Mermaid Place is without doubt the best thing she's ever done.
Honorary Irish woman Katell Keineg returns to the fray this week with the release of At The Mermaid Place, her first album for the Damon Albarn-founded Honest Jon Records.
In addition to the title-track it features ‘St. Martin’, ‘Old Friend’, ‘Summer Loving Song’, ‘I Fell In Love With The World’, ‘The Arsehole Song’, ‘Thirteen’, ‘Olden Days’, ‘Dear Ashley’, ‘World Of Sex’, ‘Dig A Pit’ and ‘Calenture’.
Brittany-born, Welsh-reared and from time to time Dublin-domiciled, Keineg was formerly signed to Elektra, but went the independent route in 2002. Along the way she’s performed with such high-profile names as Allen Ginsberg, Calexico and Jeff Buckley who became a personal friend.
