Kate Bush announces new Best of The Other Sides compilation
It will come out digitally on September 26 and on vinyl / CD on October 31.
Kate Bush has announced the release of her new compilation Best of The Other Sides, due out digitally on September 26 and on vinyl / CD on October 31 via Fish People.
Her 2018 box set included a disc called The Other Sides, made up of B-sides and bonus material that never gained official album release. The disc is no longer available and has become a cult object.
While the new highlight version Best of The Other Sides will not feature any new material, ‘Experiment IV’ and ‘You Want Alchemy?’ have been remastered especially for this compilation, with Bush saying that they “both include a small edit”, adding: “I felt ‘Experiment IV’ would benefit from a longer intro featuring Alan Murphy’s magnificent guitar”.
She also said that ‘Walk Straight Down the Middle’ “has also benefitted from being re-eq’d”.
Although the record’s full tracklist has not been made available, it is set to include covers of ‘Rocket Man’, ‘The Man I Love’ as well as ‘Running Up That Hill’ B-side ‘Under The Ivy’.
Most recently, Bush was among over 70 leading artists who signed a letter to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, urging him to stand up for artists' rights and protect their work ahead of a UK-US tech pact.
