Justin Timberlake, Anderson .Paak and Anna Kendrick have a houseparty in ‘Don’t Slack’
The track features on the soundtrack for Trolls: World Tour, out April 10 on video-on-demand
Following his disco-themed duet with SZA in ‘The Other Side’, Justin Timberlake continues to team up with some big names for the Trolls World Tour Soundtrack, this time enlisting fellow GRAMMY Award winner Anderson .Paak.
The single was released back in March, with Timberlake revealing that he and .Paak have talked about working on a project that’s a little larger in scope after this single.
The music video features the superstars invading Kendrick’s house, following her through her morning routine and trying to inject some optimism into her character’s gloomy outlook.
Although the video was filmed in February, it mirrors our current quarantined and self-isolated situation, with a grumpy Kendrick (who voices Poppy in the animated film) slowly brightened up by the two musicians who have invaded her household.
Like the original 2016 film, Timberlake served as the executive music producer on the Trolls World Tour soundtrack, which also features songs from George Clinton, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Dierks Bentley, Haim and more.
The film itself was originally due out in theaters, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will instead premiere on video-on-demand on April 10.
