Julian Casablancas + The Vodz 'Human Sadness' - Track Review
Originally heard on Sam Adoquei’s documentary The Unseen Beauty, ‘Human Sadness’ is a wilfully obtuse offering that occasionally dazzles over its 11 minutes. Steeped in space rock and prog influences, The Strokes’ singer’s vocals are buried under a blanket of sound as backing band the Vodz dish out some discordant jams and metal guitar solos. Interesting but not arresting, this first song from the soon to be released Tyranny leaves this reviewer very much on the fence.
