Jon Favreau Address The Jungle Book Sequel Rumuors
The director has spoken on the matter; "what was printed was a rumour."
Yesterday, rumours were circulating that a sequel to the live-adaptation of The Jungle Book was already in the works.
However, speaking to Empire, director Jon Favreau is drowning out those whispers to make it clear what actually went down in the Mouse House; "I can at least confirm that we've been talking about the notion of doing a sequel, and what the sequel might be,” Favreau clarifies. “But there was no decisive step taken [from the conversation] that that report was based on.”
With raving reviews, 100% certified rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a healthy buzz about it (and that's with The Jungle Book not even open yet in the majority of countries), Favreau certainly would be on board should a sequel Jungle Book be officially confirmed. "“Yeah, I would be involved. And I'd be happy to. It was a very interesting process.”
Regardless of whether or not a sequel is made, Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book is set to be a certified success. The film stars Neel Sethi, Christopher Walken, Bill Murray and Lupita Nyong'o. It's out in cinemas this Friday, April 15.
