“They see me Rowlin’, they hatin”: Is there a better response to Twitter trolls than this one? We don’t think so and neither does the Harry Potter author evidently.
Rowling tweeted the Chamillionaire lyric in response to an online feud that was not of her own making.
In January the Glasgow MP Natalie McGarry accused the best-selling author of “defending abusive, misogynist trolls" on Twitter which prompted Rowling to respond: "I'd love an explanation of this accusation, Natalie."
McGarry has since apologised on Twitter for her comments, writing: "The particular screen grab from JK Rowling didn't give the correct context to her relationship with a tweeter, so I apologise.”
When a fan asked Rowling why she bothered to reply to the “bully” MP, Rowling outdid herself with this witty lyric.
