You heard wrong, I'm afraid. #CursedChild is a play. #FantasticBeasts will be 3 movies, though! https://t.co/7tvw4rolcR

An avid Twitter user, Rowling often uses the medium to communicate with fans and in shutting down speculation of the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child becoming a movie, she simultaneously confirmed the Fantastic Beasts trilogy.
The first film is due out this coming November. Fantastic Beasts is set in 1920's New York, 70 years before Harry Potter's arrival on Privet Drive. Newt Scamander - played by Eddie Redmayne - is attending the Magical Congress of America in his quest to find magical creatures. Whether or not, Redmayne will reprise his role in the upcoming trilogy remains to be seen but nonetheless, this is most definitely something to get excited about in the local over a Butterbeer.
