Indie artist jasmine.4.t has released a new music video 'Woman (A Fan Film)' and has announced a show at the Workmans Club, Dublin on November 15.
Jasmine became the first UK signee to Phoebe Bridgers' label (Saddest Factory Records) and released her debut album You Are The Morning in January. The record was produced by boygenius' Julien Baker, Bridgers and Lucy Dacus.
"'Woman' was the first song I wrote after coming out to anyone as a trans woman," said Jasmine.
The song "so neatly summed up the strength of my convictions in defiance of the backdrop of trans persecution that we were recording the album against."
The singer said that when she released You Are The Morning, she was met with appreciation from the LGBTQ community.
When 'Woman' was played live "it was met with so much love and power, it felt like a resounding 'fuck you' to the powers that be, that have caused so much trans death in recent times."
"We wanted to show the world this queer love and solidarity, to show the world that trans people are loved, to show the world all of the beautiful responses we have to trans art."
To do this, Jasmine asked fans to send videos of their responses to 'Woman'. The clips were edited together to create 'Woman (A Fan Film)'.
