Jared Leto to play Andy Warhol in upcoming biopic
The actor confirmed the role by posting a photo of Warhol on his Instagram.
Actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto has confirmed that he will be portraying art pop icon Andy Warhol in an upcoming biopic.
Leto, who is 48, confirmed the news via Instagram, where he posted several photos of the late artist.
"Yes it's true I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film," Leto wrote. "And so grateful and excited about the opportunity.Happy belated birthday Andy."
The casting has been long been a rumour, with Leto first attached to a Warhol script from Wolf of Wall Street writer Terence Winter.

Warhol died in 1987 from an irregular heartbeat, after becoming one of the most influential artists of his generation.
