The English-Italian singer-songwriter will be taking his new album Singing to Strangers on a UK and Ireland tour
Jack Savoretti is set the release his sixth studio album, Singing To Strangers in 2019. The album will feature co-writes from Bob Dylan and Kylie Minogue.
Pleased with the process of his latest recording, Savoretti says: “This is the first time I’ve made an album with a clear understanding of what I want it to sound like. Previously I’ve thrown it to the wind: show up in the studio with a song and let’s see what happens. This time there was a real discipline to the whole process. We stayed true to it.”
His fourth album Written In Scars was released in 2015 and reached the top ten a full year after its release date due to a rousing performance of single ‘Catapult’ on The Graham Norton Show.
Savoretti is yet to have a massive chart-topping hit, which he is pleased about: “The luckiest thing that ever happened to me is not having a hit, because it’s never constrained me into having to repeat it.”
Following the slow-burning success of Written In Scars, Savoretti immediately wrote, recorded and toured fifth album, Sleep No More.
“That kept us on the road again, three to four years. We stopped a year ago – then we got offered this John Legend European support tour. That was an experience we couldn’t say no to. “It was a very bonding time,” he continues. “We were a support band again, and it brought us all back down to earth. It was fun, we were done by nine every night, so we had dinner, a few bottles of wine and it made me decide that I wanted to make an album with all these guys on stage.”
Savoretti’s new album, Singing To Strangers will be released March 22, 2019 and he will play The Olympia Theatre, Sunday May 26, 2019.
Tickets are priced from €28.90 including booking and restoration fee and go on sale Friday November 23 at 9am from Ticketmaster.
