It's All True
Canadian innovators release an uninspiring addition to their canon
Opting to stay with what brought them to the dance in the first place, electro duo Junior Boys’ fourth record is a pretty standard effort. While their beats and production values rival the likes of Hot Chip, the songs feel cold, with Jeremy Greenspan’s vocal range sounding as limited as the vocabulary of a member of The Only Way Is Essex cast. Devotees of the genre will enjoy the sleek sounds of ‘You’ll Improve Me’ and ‘Kick The Can’ but the average music fan will find little to get excited about.
