Irishman
The kind of ballad that might well be sung by the hordes in the pubs and taverns of Poland over the coming weeks, ‘Irishman’ is one of those tunes that sounds ready-made for a late night session. Not a million miles from the Pogues’ version of ‘Dirty Old Town’ in the melody and tempo department, Tupelo perform it here with a tad more restraint than they undoubtedly do at closing time when the spirits are high and the glasses raised even higher.
