Irish Premiere: Rachael Boyd's new album Weave
Irish multi-instrumentalist Rachael Boyd has premiered her debut album with Hot Press ahead of its official release.
Hailing from Belfast but currently based in Dublin, Rachael Boyd has been on the Irish music beat for years, but Weave is her first official album.
Encompassing a sublime fusion of styles - including contemporary classical, ambient drone, experimental electronic and hip-hop influenced pop - Boyd's debut is a testament to patience, careful consideration and an openness to influences. It's a masterful album, which manages to effortlessly tie in a range of styles into one coherent body of work ("weave" seems like an entirely appropriate title when you consider the disparate styles she manages to blend into the 12 songs here).
