International Deejay Gigolos CD Six
The current penchant for 4/4 led electro probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Munich based DJ Hell and his rapidly expanding Deejay Gigolos empire
Fischerspooner, Tiga and Kittin might be enjoying all the media attention, but the current penchant for 4/4 led electro probably wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Munich based DJ Hell (pictured) and his rapidly expanding Deejay Gigolos empire. Hell, a former bit player on the global techno map had the good sense and musical suss to sign up acts like Hacker & Kittin during the mid nineties and is currently reaping the rewards. That’s not to suggest that Hell has taken the money and disappeared, and this, the sixth Gigolos compilation highlights his devotion to furthering the electro sound. From the Goth and gnarly punk shapes thrown by Tommie Sunshine, Family 5 and Fat Truckers into the more cerebral electronic sounds of Dopplereffekt and bona fide classic like ‘Shari Vari’, ‘6’ represents this music’s many shapes and forms.
