Ink Jar
Cloud Seeding is not so much a band as an experimental project from the mind of New York guitarist Kevin Serra, who has set out to create boundary-less, directionless music with a different vocalist on every track. Sounds a bit scatterbrained for your liking? Well, hear the man out. “There is no one signature sound,” he explains, “just a space for improvisation that is free to change.” It certainly works on ‘Ink Jar’, a psychedelic lovesong that falls somewhere between The xx and Björk. On this number, vocals come courtesy of a delightfully chilly Boston-based singer by the name of Marissa Nadler, but next time, who knows? One thing’s for sure; wherever Serra takes his un-signature sound, we want in.
