Specializing in BIG choruses and singalong-ability, Offaly's Frantic Jack's first record is an Uncle Sam-flavoured slab of wax that wouldn't sound out of place in some schmaltzy Hollywood rom-com starring Jennifer Aniston and some random faceless bloke. If you're a fan of the Dave Matthews Band or Counting Crows, you’ll definitely find much of merit on Independence; the opening one-two punch of ‘Hold On’ and 'Vancouver' in particular is really strong. It’s just a shame they brought the smoking ban in, as these tunes demand that a lighter be held aloft...
