Jurassic World Finds its Director in Juan Antonio Bayona
Jurassic World came in as the second highest grossing film of 2015 with a staggering $652 million in US box-office figures, with an overall $1.7 billion mark globally. With that figure in mind, new director Juan Antonio Bayona will have big shoes to fill.
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow welcomed Bayona on board via his Twitter whilst Bayona replied expressing his delight.
Proud to collaborate with one of my favorite filmmakers on the next Jurassic adventure. JA Bayona, it's all yours.

The rumours of Bayona's involvement in the project have long been circulating so it's a relief to now know that the deal has been signed and sealed. Trevorrow will still be intimately involved in Jurassic World 2 as he will pen the script. The original dinosaur visionary extraordinaire Stephen Spielberg is to keep a watchful eye over the whole project. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will once again come face-to-face with the reptile rivals.
It's no surprise that Bayona has been entrusted with the sequel. His recreation of 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami in The Impossible was nominated in several prestigious awards ceremonies and producers hope that Bayona will be able to bring that same realism to the island of Isla Nublar.
Shooting has yet to commence on Jurassic World 2 so it will be another while before we have a dinosaur atrocity raid our screens but you can see Bayona's latest visionary A Monster Calls starring Liam Neeson later this year.
