I Wanna Be In Love

Dublin live favorites Sweet Jane come to us with the promise of a new album in 2013, but without frontwoman Lydia Des Dolles, who announced she was leaving the band in August. Now very much a family affair – vox and guitar man Danda Paxton and bassist Ruairi Paxton have been joined by brother Neil on keys and guitar – the sinister rockers have been forced to jettison their winsome boy/girl vocals for something more streamlined. ‘I Wanna Be In Love’ is nowhere near as memorable as the material on 2010’s Sugar For My Soul, but thanks to a stadium-worthy guitar solo, it’s a step in the right direction.
