How It All Began In The End
dublin heavy rockers impress with songwriterly chops
Not quite heavy enough for the metallers and too loud for the pop kids? Dublin’s Travega occupy an unenviable territory. If you merge The Script with Biffy Clyro, you wouldn’t be too far off their sound and listening to their debut you get the feeling they’ve thrown everything into the pot in an effort to win us over. But you know what? It actually works as the band are really strong songwriters and make it all seem so effortless. There’d be a huge demand for songs like ‘Scar’ and ‘Nowhere To Run’ in America if their radio stations were willing to take a chance on something new. However, it’s tracks like ‘Jester’ that show they’ve a real fire in their bellies. All in all, an impressive debut.
