Hot Press Track of the Day: SYLK's 'Girl'
'Girl' is the latest from Dublin-based electronic duo SYLK.
Formed in 2016 and showcasing a distorted black and white sound along with noise, harmony and visuals their tagline is Manipulate. Controversy. Distortion.
Following the release of SYLK's debut EP nwyr, the duo have performed in places such as Hard Working Class Heroes Showcase, Whelan’s Ones to Watch, The Grand Social, and Body&Soul in recent months.
'Girl' is a densely layered track, pulsating with bass, synth and vocal distortion, while its lyrics are as foreboding as they are damn catchy. Having already established a reputation for themselves as being a darkly mysterious, neon-soaked duo, Sylk's are doing everything musical to establish themselves as emerging Irish act.
