Hot Press Track Of The Day : Æ Mak Glow
Incandescent electro art-pop performer Æ Mak is back with a new single, Glow a complex tale of self-doubt, yearning and inner reflection.
True to form, the sprightly Dublin-based songstress has managed to add her idiosyncratic spark of life to this track by contrasting serious lyrical content with upbeat and punchy toe-tapping synths.
This juxtaposition of old tribal folk vocals with new fresh synths is no mean feat and something we’ve come to expect from Æ Mak since the 2016 debut release of Feel It In My Bones
Vocally, Glow is packed with strong female melodic harmonies found in tribal chants and strangely reminiscent of early Irish trad. It’s perfect for fans of both the Roisin Murphy school of dance and those who dig Bjork's sublime introspective lyrics.
