Hot Press Premiere’s We Raise Bears New Video ‘Take Me To The River’
Refugees, recession and internet trolls feature in this brooding new track.
In the midst of a tour across Ireland at the moment, We Raise Bears have premiered their new live video ‘Take Me to The River’ with Hot Press.
Powerful lyrics, combined with a rounded accompaniment and lead singer Conor Miley’s haunting vocals, deliver a compelling punch.
The song is a fitting follow on from recent political upheaval, angrily condemning modern politics and technology’s damaging intrusion on social interaction. From the toxic blame-culture which enveloped Ireland during the economic crisis to the Internet’s abusive, anonymous social framework, the lyrics plead to “wash away the dirt” and be cleansed by the river.
The track also showcases the band’s expansion to a four-piece line up, welcoming Shane Holly (Jennifer Evans) and Niall Honohan to join co-founders Sharon Murphy and Conor Miley.
The band released their debut EP in November 2016, which was warmly received across Irish and UK radio. They’ve continued to grow appearing at festivals such as Other Voices, Electric Picnic and playing alongside We Cut Corners and Conor O’Brien.
They continue their Irish tour this summer crossing the isle and headlining venues such as Roscommon Arts Centre, Bennigans Jazz Club (Derry), Kenny’s Bar (Lahinch), Nelliefreds (Dingle) and Galway Fringe Festival.
