Hold Me Down
Emo band in not shite shocker
ock pretenders You Me At Six don’t deserve a three out of five score! – you cry. Well, hear us out. You see, if you go into Hold Me Down expecting to hear a pop album rather than a metal album, you’ll be surprised (and pleased) at how many hooks the much maligned five-piece display. In fact, these days the debate as to whether they’re a rock band or not is as pointless as two nerds arguing about computer programmes. It’s as simple as this, You Me At Six write solid pop songs (‘Underdog,’ ‘Playing The Blame Game’) and their second record is full of anthems that will no doubt soundtrack thousands of teenage romances. So there.
Edwin McFee
Key Track: ‘Underdog’
