Hi-Fidelity Dub Sessions Vol 3
Apart from the odd dodgy moment, it’s another enjoyable diversion for the non-purist skankers
The lasy Hi-Fi Dub... collections – Vol 2 strangely enough – was a fine exercise in what hotpress (probably incorrectly) calls modern dub... all the right ingredients given a subtle modern twist. And it was good. Vol 3, however, ploughs a more confusing furrow. There’s enough of the low-slung riddims with enjoyably obvious hotch-potch
influences buried mid-album (Boozoo Baju, Nick Holder, Wicker Beat Sound System and DJ Krush), but the winebar-tastic offerings at the outset are far too bland a way to begin proceedings.

Still, apart from the odd dodgy moment, it’s another enjoyable diversion for the non-purist skankers.
