Heal
The identity of The Child Of Lov remains a secret, but the folk at Domino affiliate Double Six have been kind enough to provide us with just enough facts to make a review of ‘Heal’ possible. An avant garde funk anthem with bags of soul, it’s the creation of a single, very shy, male multi-instrumentalist who adores and attempts to emulate the impeccably turned-out funk-pop stylings of D’Angelo and Prince. We’re also told that Damon Albarn is the man to thank for the track’s effortlessly awesome bassline, while full credit for the muffled falsetto goes to our mystery man at the production reins.
