Hard Working Class Heroes only a month away
The Annual Showcase Festival and Conference for New Irish Music runs from October 6 - 8.
The weekend will be packed with a range of industry events and music. 100 bands including Ghost Estates, The Kanyu Tree and Alarmist will appear over the three days at the following venues: The Button Factory, The Mercantile, The Grand Social, Shebeen Chic, Twisted Pepper and The Workmans Club.
Entry to all the industry events are free: they include Bandtips Sessions for venue bookers, the media and international festival bookers which take place The Artist Lounge, Filmbase on the October 6, 7 and 8 respectively. There are also speed sessions which are open to 25 people per day as well as panel discussions.
Hard Working Class Heroes have also collaborated with Irish Times man Jim Carroll for the HWCH Convention. A number of exciting new industry themes will up for discussion at the event, which will also be filmed and made available as a podcast. Musicians, labels, festival bookers and journalists will spread the word about goings-on in Irish music.
Weekend tickets for gigs are €45 plus fees, while nightly tickets are €20 plus fees. Check hwch.net for more details.
