Hamsandwich 'Apollo' - Track Review
It’s definitely a period of self-discovery and reinvention for the much-adored indie act, but if it yields sublime slices of alt pop like new single ‘Apollo’ then it can only be a good thing. Sonically somewhere in between the Sundays and the Cocteau Twins, it sees the Meath-bred bunch in world-beating form. Singer Niamh Farrell is in a defiant mood on the single (“It’s been a long time coming/But I’m not afraid” she croons at one point) and it’s one of their most radio-friendly offerings to date.
