Hal Willner confirms Rogue's Gallery line-up
Veteran producer Hal Willner has revealed the preliminary line-up for this July's Rogue’s Gallery concert in Dublin, which will feature top artists performing sea chanteys and pirate ballads.
Hal Willner has confirmed the first batch of guest artists who are joining him for his Rogue’s Gallery gig, which is taking place in Dublin Docklands on July 18 as part of the Analog festival.
Helping recreate his Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys album on stage are Teddy Thompson, Waterson: Carthy, Gavin Friday, David Thomas of Pere Ubu fame, Julie Fowlis, Baby Grapms, Ed Harcourt, Rachel Unthank and The Winterset.
“There's always an anarchic energy and random beauty to these artist-led voyages: perhaps that's what makes them so special,” enthuses the veteran American producer. “So with that in mind, I've invited friends old and new to take part, some of whom appear on the album and other brave souls who’ve decided to try their hand at something new.”
