Take part now and help us find out the truth about the country's recreational drug taking
Hot Press is once again delighted to be the exclusive print partner for the Global Drug Survey 2020, which has just gone live in Ireland at https://www.globaldrugsurvey.com.
Conducted in sixteen different languages, the GDS is the biggest survey of its kind in the world with over 130,000 people confidentially submitting data last year about their recreational – and occasionally problematic – drug use.
This time round there’ll be a special focus on the effectiveness of CBD and products; the safest way to dose with MDMA; how people self-medicate with drugs as diverse as LSD, Kambo, Ketamine, DMT and Ibogaine; alcohol regret and how to avoid it; and the perils of big night out drug taking.
Kambo, in case you’re wondering, is a natural painkiller scraped from the back of stressed Amazonian tree frogs. No, really!
Forty times stronger than morphine, it’s been used as a tribal medicine for centuries and has now entered into the drug chain here too.
Over 50 academic papers have been generated using the GDS data, with drug agencies, the wider medical community, politicians, the legal profession and law enforcement benefitting from its insights.
The numbers are crunched on a country by country basis, so take the 20-30 minutes needed to complete the survey and help us discover the truth about recreational drug use in Ireland.
Over the coming weeks you'll find an extensive array of GDS blogs and other related material on hotpress.com.
