Ghostface Killah: Twelve Reasons To Die: The Brown Tape
Solo effort from Wu Tang Clan member gets remix treatment...
Twelve Reasons To Die: The Brown Tape is a remix version of Ghostface Killah’s Twelve Reasons To Die, released earlier this year. Reworked by Detroit producer Apollo Brown, this take on the album is imaginative and diverse, with Brown conjuring a dreamy soundscape on ‘Beware Of The Stare’, assembling dramatic, sample-driven tunes on ‘I Declare War’ and ‘Blood On The Cobblestones’, and evoking DJ Shadow on the moody, downtempo likes of ‘The Centre Of Attraction’ and ‘Enemies All Around Me’. A satisfying companion piece to a strong album.
Key Track: 'Beware of the Stare'
