'FucK You All': Glen E. Friedman exhibition followed by Fugazi screening
The legendary music photographer will attend the opening of his photo exhibition 'FucK You All' at the Lighthouse Cinema tonight, as part of the PhotoIreland festival.
Following an in-depth Q&A on his work and processes, the audience will be treated to a screening of Instrument, a documentary film directed by Jem Cohen which follows seminal 1990's band Fugazi. The film was shot from 1987 through 1998 is composed mainly of footage
of concerts, interviews with the band members, practices, tours and time spent in the studio recording their 1995 album, Red Medicine.
The film also includes portraits of fans as well as interviews with them at various Fugazi shows around the United States throughout the years.
The director's relationship with band member Ian MacKaye extends back to the 1970s, when the two met in high school in Washington, D.C. meaning the footage is a true insight into the life of the band.
The Q& A with Glen E. Friedman begins at 8pm tonight, July 8, followed by the first screening
of Instrument at 8.30pm.
