Foy Vance announces 'A Celebration of Life' show for Belfast
Tickets for the Belfast show will go on sale Friday, November 7, at 10AM via Ticketmaster.ie.
Following his recent run of sold-out Grand Opera House and Waterfront Hall shows, Foy Vance has announced a special show at Custom House Square, Belfast, on Saturday, August 15.
'A Celebration of Life' will feature a mixture of song, satire and poetry with Vance accompanied by special guests, including musicians Joshua Burnside and Bonnie Bishop, comedian Vittorio Angelone and poet Jon Plunkett.
Foy recently shared two new songs, 'A.I.' and 'Call Me Anytime.'
'A.I.' is a nine-minute song that reflects on the rise of artificial intelligence. Vance described it as a "prison yard lament" and said he recorded it multiple times, each time being different from the last to highlight human imperfection.
“I was thinking how AI might come to the conclusion that humans are a waste of time, considering how they’ve hurtled this planet toward destruction, and that the best way to save the world would be to get rid of them,” says Vance on the track.
'Call Me Anytime' focuses on Vance's experiences with fatherhood. The track is a simple, emotional ballad built around his vocals and minimal instrumentation.
Tickets for the Belfast show will go on sale Friday, November 7, at 10AM via Ticketmaster.ie.
