There will be sporting ribaldry aplenty next Wednesday in the National Stadium!
Former Hot Press-er Barry Glendenning, who’ll be making a dramatic return in our 40th Birthday Special, is joined by his Guardian chums James Richardson, Amy Lawrence and Barney Ronay for a live Football Weekly podcast recording on June 7 in Dublin’s National Stadium.
Tickets priced €21.86 are available now from eventbrite.ie.
The quartet will be taking a lingering look at the season just gone, and regaling us with copious tales of footballers behaving extremely badly.
Baz will most likely be crying into his beer, whiskey, gin, vodka and other spirits on account of his beloved Sunderland’s return with a meagre 24 points to the Championship where the likes of Burton Albion and Barnsley await. Seriously, Hot Press Muchengladbach 1891, would have done better.
Ms. Lawrence, on the other hand, will still be on a high following her equally beloved Gooners’ capture of the FA Cup.
Support is provided by Seamus O’Reilly and Second Captain Ken Early who’ll be forensically examining Steve Bruce’s, er, remarkable series of crime novels.
