For those about to rock
Going to The Icarus Line gig - this weekend's instalment of the No Disco New Breathe series - this Saturday? Well, here's a sneak preview of what's about to happen to you
California noise merchants The Icarus Line will be hitting Dublin's PoD on March 2nd as part of No Disco's New Breathe sessions. Currently hot footing it all over Europe on tour, Icarus front man Joe Cardamone spared Hot Press a minute from his busy schedule to let us know what we're in for.
"It's definitely loud and chaotic and can go from calculated to complete abandon in a matter of seconds. There's moments of disarray and confusion and then moments of melancholy so it's a very dynamic performance, I'd say."
The making of their cracking debut long player Mono clocked in at speedy two weeks studio time, capturing the flavour of a band set to give distortion-land a good airing with their un-inhibited 'noisy rock'.
"The record has a raw sound to it which we benefit from. It's a good representation of how we are onstage."
And as for the Dublin gig? "It'll be class." How much more convincing does one need?
