Foo Fighters playing surprise Dublin Academy show tonight
It follows on from an even more intimate show at Other Voices in Dingle!
The good news for Foo Fighters fans is that the band are playing an intimate Dublin Academy show tonight - doors open 7pm, no support, kick-off 8.30pm.
The bad news is that the show sold out yesterday in mere minutes, with fans having to purchase tickets in person from the nearby 3Olypmia. In a bid to beat the touts, the lucky 750 or so will have to present ID to get in for what promises to be a historic set.
Hot Press will be there, so stay tuned for a ringside report...
This is how the news was broken:

Here's the full advice offered by MCD for tonight's gig:
Absolutely no entry is permitted into the building prior to doors opening. Not even for bathrooms. No Exceptions.
Your physical ID must be present and exactly match the name on the purchase order to enter the venue. No exceptions.
If you purchased 2 tickets, you and your guest must enter the venue together. If you enter the venue without your guest, your second ticket will be forfeited.
‘The Academy operates a ‘no re-entry policy’, if you need to leave during the event please speak to event security’
If you requested accessible tickets when you purchased the ticket(s), please alert event staff when you check-in.
Small bags 4.5”x6” and smaller are permitted. Larger bags will not be permitted.
Do Not Bring: Cameras (phones are OK), gum, sharpies, outside food/drink, umbrellas.
Meanwhile, Dave and the chaps helped Other Voices celebrate its 25th anniversary by nipping down to Dingle for a set in St. James' Church. It was a sort of homecoming for Dave Grohl who spent time in the Kingdom in the 1990s.
