FKA Twigs confirms album release for fall 2019
FKA Twigs confirms in a new interview that her next album is imminent.
In her new interview with i-D’s Frankie Dunn, FKA Twigs has confirmed she will be releasing the follow-up to 2014’s LP1 this autumn. The forthcoming record, entitled Magdalene, is set to feature notable contributors like Nicolas Jaar on co-production and a guest verse from Future on the track ‘Holy Terrain.’
The record, according to Figs, “is about every lover that I’ve ever had, and every lover that I’m going to have.” On the musical front, “just when you think it’s really fragile and about to fall apart, there’s an absolute defiance and strength in a way that my work’s never had before.” Production on Magdalene began roughly three years ago, and has been worked on in a host of cities such as London, New York, and Los Angeles.
The highly-anticipated record will be out this autumn on Young Turks. In the meantime, revisit FKA Twigs’ dazzling music video for the records first single ‘Cellophane.’
