First Fortnight Announce Further Additions To Musical Line Up
The festival has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2009.
First Fortnight have announced the addition of Anderson, Spies and King Kong Company to their line up for next year's festival.
First Fortnight is a festival that began six years ago in order to raise awareness about mental health by using the arts to create a safe space where mental health can be discussed openly. The festival begins on January 1 and runs until January 16 and features a diverse programme ranging from comedy to the visual arts to a stellar musical lineup.
Also on the musical bill are We Cut Corners, Jennifer Evans, Spies, Saint Sister, Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, State Lights and Dermot Kennedy.
King Kong Company will close the festival on January 16th with a show at The Button Factory. Joining them on the bill are Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, State Lights. The Waterford band will release their Neil McLellan (The Prodigy) produced debut album in 2016, have also revealed that their track, 'Scarity Dan', was partly inspired by street artist ADW’s Hold Fast street art, which was commissioned by First Fortnight in Dublin City Centre two year ago.
Dublin singer-songwriter Anderson will begin the New Year by headlining the festival’s second Therapy Session at the Workman’s Club on January 15. Also on the bill is recent Other Voices star Dermot Kennedy and spoken word performers Lewis Kenny, Richard Brennan and Nicole Eve Rourke.
