Fire Away
Everything but a kitsch N’sync
Basically taking every musical genre that comes into their mind and cramming it onto on album (hip hop, swing, Latin, reggae, you name it you’ve got it) Ozomatli’s fifth album Fire Away is an energetic, exciting listen that engages as soon as the horns on opening track ‘Are You Ready?’ kick in. There are a few misfires on the album, and we could do without the bass-heavy hymn to Lenny Kravitz that is ‘Elysian Persuasion,’ but on the whole the album takes more chances than most artists do in their whole career.
Key Track: ‘Are You Ready’
