Featured artist of the fortnight: Evan Dando
Investigate some past reviews and interviews with the main squeeze of the Lemonheads
Ex-Lemonhead Evan Dando is currently trading solo and takes his one man band to Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on Saturday, May 4th. Dando’s commercial appeal first peaked with the Boston three-piece’s cover of Simon and Garfunkel staple ‘Mrs Robinson’ in 1992, but a predictable descent into drink and drug hedonism followed shortly thereafter until it seemed that Dando would forever reside in the "Didn’t you used to be?" file.
Of late however Dando has substantially cleaned up his act and is enjoying rave reviews for his latest live outings which combing the cream of his Lemonheads offerings with newer material. Trivia fans might be interested to learn that - in addition to having been Courtney's love - Dando was rumoured to be romantically linked with one Kylie Minogue for a brief period during the late ‘90s.
As Dando's Dublin date fast approaches, we've excavated the Lemon-flavoured portions of our archive to turn up a few readables for you in the meantime. Have a look:
