Father John Misty 'Bored In The USA' - Track Review
He’s a former member of Fleet Foxes turned solo, and the guitar-toting folksy troubadour enters the realm of piano balladry for this new track. Plodding, slightly mawkish and unforgivably dreary, the vocals by the artist born as John Tillman are unimpressive throughout; while the black humour in the lyrics (for example “Save me President Jesus”) do raise a smile, it’s just not enough to warrant repeat plays.
