Fairytale ending
WITNNESS 2001 PROVED to be a major success with 35,172 fans journeying to Fairyhouse for the two-day musicfest.
Despite what at times was torrential rain, the racecourse’s much vaunted drainage system did its job, with only an inch or two of surface mud.
Having decided to adopt a more low-key approach than they did recently at Creamfields, the Gardai made just nine arrests all weekend and commended festival-goers for their “mature and responsible” behaviour.

One of the few disappointments was the no-show of Catatonia who, with Cerys Matthews still in rehab, were forced to pull out of their More stage appearance.
