Exclusive: Editors reveal new album details
Editors talk to hotpress.com about their follow-up to The Back Room.
Editors have confirmed to Hot Press that they’re recording their new album in Ireland with U2, Bloc Party and Snow Patrol producer Garret ‘Jacknife’ Lee.
Before setting up shop here, the quartet will work on two tracks with Lee next week in London.
“We’d heard some great things about him from Snow Patrol and Bloc Party and, sure enough, the minute we met him we clicked,” guitarist Chris Urbanowicz told us backstage at the Patrol’s Belfast Botanic Gardens headliner.
Their new album will be assembled in either Dublin or Westmeath’s Grouse Lodge Studios where Lee recorded Bloc Party’s sophomore collection.
It’s been a busy couple of months for the residential complex with McFly, The Radiators, Humanzi, Nina Hynes, Wasted Youth Orchestra, The Flaws, Stone Tone, Death Cab For Cutie Man Chris Walla and Skin Size Kings all laying down tracks there.
The last on the list are from Athlone, have had their debut album produced by Grouse Lodge’s resident engineer Rowen Rossiter and have a “spooky string section”-assisted track, ‘The Cycle’, that is going to be ginormous!
