Cheesy vibrations from electro-clash pioneers Fischerspooner
A handful of years ago, electro-duo Fischerspooner were the toast of the town. They were name dropped in every cool club across the world and it seemed that their ‘80s aping sounds might make them the next big thing. Sadly it didn’t really work out that way and their third record Entertainment isn’t likely to elevate them to clubland superstars either. That’s not to say it’s a bad album, though. New single ‘The Best Revenge’ is their finest assault on the charts since ‘Emerge’ and the old school Depeche Mode-isms of ‘We Are Electric’ are endearing rather than irritating. Sadly the same can’t be said about the pretentious ‘Danse En France’ and ‘Infidels Of The World Unite’ though and they’re clunky, cheesy numbers that impede the album’s initial impact.
Key Track: ‘The Best Revenge’
