Dupe/Hold Out

With just a handful of gigs under their belt, Dublin trio HUNK! have somehow already perfected a heavy duty sound that’s gutsy, grungy and deliciously punk-infused. ‘Dupe’ is the perfect track to lead their first ever cassette single, masterfully mixing sweet harmonies with throbbing rhythms and rugged musical flourishes, while ‘Hold Out’ is a tamer beast, led by the candy-coated shoops of Sundara O’Higgins and Niamh Hegarty. Roughed-up girl group harmonies, monster percussion and reverb-laden riffage give these tunes a vintage feel but there’s something undeniably fresh about the trio’s delightfully singable creations.
