Dundalk folk band Nix Moon wins headline slot at Vantastival.
Up-and-coming Irish band Nix Moon have come out on top in the final of Vantastival’s Firestone Battle of the Bands competition.
The finals took place last night in Odd Mollies in Drogheda with five acts competing in the finals.
As well as winning a headline slot on the Firestone Music Station stage at Vantastival, the band will also get a €1,800 voucher for Musicmaker (musical equipment store in Dublin) as well as three days residential recording time at the Grouse Lodge Studios in Co. Westmeath.
Over the past three years, the band have been busy touring festivals around Ireland, such as Electric Picnic and Knockanstockan, as well as selling out their own local shows. Their debut EP ‘Soul Traffic’ was released last summer and following this, the band went on to win ‘Best Performers’ at the Busker Fleadh in Dublin last September.
Nix Moon will take to the stage at Vantastival over the June bank holiday weekend. Other bands on the line-up include The Riptide Movement, Kíla and Overhead, The Albatross.
Vantastival will take place at Beaulie House and Gardens on the June 3 and June 4. Tickets are priced at €85 for weekend camping or €40 for a day ticket and can be purchased from www.vantastival.com
