Dun Laoighre's Pavilion Theatre To Play Host To Wainwright Sisters
The Wainwright sisters have just released their first album together Songs In The Dark.
Martha and Lucy Wainwright may share their famous father's surname but the sisters didn't grow up together. Their new album Songs In The Dark could be seen as an attempt to fill that void as the sisters explore the lullabies that their respective mothers use to sing to them as children.
Both grew up in families saturated in songwriting, both their mother's being highly acclaimed songwriters and musicians along with their famous father Loudon.
As well as the lullabies, the record will feature songs that surrounded their childhood. Songs by Woody Guthrie, Jimmie Rogers and also of course their famous father.
The sisters play Dun Laoighre's Pavilion Theatre January 31. Tickets are €26 and are on sale now.
Watch the sisters perform 'Hobo's Lullaby' below.
