Dublin's Slow Moving Clouds Set To Headline The Sugar Club
After supporting Ludovico Einaudi in the 3 Arena last July, the group continue to rise the ranks as they headline the Sugar Club November 7th.
Slow Moving Clouds are a Dublin-based band who combine elements of Irish and Nordic traditional music with minimalist and experimental influences to create a mesmeric sound which has been compared to the likes of Icelandic band 'Sigur Ros'.
Their debut album ‘Os’ was a collection of tracks intertweaving traditional and contemporary melodies, evocative Nordic vocals, and layered string soundscapes of cello, violin and the nyckelharpa (a traditional Swedish string instrument).
From there, the group have continued to grow and in 2016 created a new score for the wildly succesful Teac Damsa’s Swan Lake / Loch na hEala, an adaptation of the ballet rooted in the Irish midlands.
The work premiered to critical acclaim at the 2016 Dublin Theatre Festival and was awarded Best Production at the 2017 Irish Times Theatre Awards. Since then it has gone on to international audiences with shows from Sydney to Stuttgart.
Tickets for 'Slow Moving Clouds' Sugar Club gig go on sale Friday September 1st at 9am from Ticketmaster and are €20.00.
