draiocht
The music leans toward the slower-paced, quieter side of trad, although there’s plenty of life in the sprightly playing of these two fine musicians.
Monaghan-born harpist and concertina player Michael Rooney and flute player June McCormack from Sligo first met up in 1990, when they were asked to perform a duet at a Foróige celebration concert. They’ve been touring as a duo since 2000, and Draíocht is their debut CD together. As might be expected from the instrumentation, the music leans toward the slower-paced, quieter side of trad, although there’s plenty of life in the sprightly playing of these two fine musicians.
