Dove Ellis announces Tokyo show for 2027
Presale for the Tokyo show kicks off this weekend
As he gears up for a string of Irish, UK and European dates over the weeks and months ahead, Dove Ellis has just announced his first ever headline show in Asia – with the Galway singer-songwriter set to play Daikanyama UNIT in Tokyo, Japan on January 8, 2027.
Two days later, on January 10, he'll play the rockin'on sonic festival at SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo.
It's the latest in an impressive string of milestones for the artist – whose debut album, Blizzard, is among the nominees for the 2026 Mercury Prize. The winner will be announced at tomorrow's live ceremony in Newcastle, with Dove Ellis set to perform at the show, alongside the likes of Florence + The Machine, Olivia Dean, RAYE, Suede and Pulp. He also contributed to the star-studded War Child album, HELP(2), which also made the shortlist.
Initially building up his fanbase through online demos and intimate live appearances, the Co. Galway-raised singer-songwriter saw his profile rise dramatically in the latter half of 2025 – as he joined Geese on their US tour, clocked up well over a million streams across his singles, and secured a coveted St James’ Church slot at Other Voices. Blizzard, released in December '25 caught the attention of major music outlets around the world – scoring glowing reviews everywhere from Pitchfork to The Guardian.
He's set to release a live album, Live at Alexandra Palace Theatre, via War Child Records on November 13, with all proceeds going towards War Child's work providing specialist mental health support, education, immediate aid, and protection to children around the world affected by war.
Presale for his headline show in Tokyo kicks off on Saturday, October 24, at 12pm local time, while general sale begins the following Saturday, October 31.
Soon after announcing the news on social media, Dove Ellis's comment section was flooded with fans requesting other international shows – in locations like the Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia.
On Spotify, the city most Dove Ellis listeners are congregated in is London, followed by New York, Melbourne and Dublin.
