Dónal Lunny's Atlantic Arc ensemble announce shows in Galway and Carlow
Atlantic Arc are also running masterclasses at the venues, where participants will also get to experience the group's technical rehearsal, soundcheck and concert as part of the programme.
The Atlantic Arc collective have shared news of two upcoming concerts in the coming weeks in Galway and Cork.
Formed by Dónal Lunny in 2016, the group is "a collaborative ensemble of renowned traditional musicians and singers from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland."
As well as playing The Black Box in Galway on January 16 and Carlow's Visual Theatre on February 6, the ensemble will also participate in masterclasses at the venues for two days prior to the show.
Participants in the class will also get to experience the Atlantic Arc's technical rehearsal, soundcheck and concert as part of the programme.
Applications for the Galway masterclasses facilitated by Music Generation Galway City, via SoundWaves, can be sent to www.soundwavesmusicspace.com by Wednesday, January 5.
In other Atlantic Arc news, the group released their first single in April last year, a reworking of the folk ballad, 'My Son David'.
"The creative chemistry makes this combination of artists very special," said Dónal Lunny on the release.
"A very successful Kickstarter campaign to fund our debut album earlier this year enabled us to come together long enough to record an album that captures the unique spirit of the music which we love."
Tickets for Atlantic Arc's gig at the Black Box Theatre in Galway are on sale now, here.
